The 4th Lecture Meeting of Tokyo Section in 2019 was hosted by Tokyo Technical Program Committee from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 23 at Kikai Shinko Kaikan building with 35 participants. Dr. Hideki YAMAMOTO, Associate Vice President, Central Research Institute of Electric Power Industry, gave the invited talk titled “Electromagnetic Transient Analysis of Power Systems and its Application to Insulation Design in the Past, Present and Future: From Theoretical / Field Test Analyses and Analog / Digital Simulations to Numerical Electromagnetic Field Analysis.”

LMAG-Tokyo Technical Tour to Mt. Fuji Radar Dome Museum
The technical tour to Mt. Fuji Radar Dome was hosted by LMAG (Life Member Affinity Group)-Tokyo from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Friday, August 30. 18 participants explored Mt. Fuji Radar, to which IEEE Milestone was awarded in March, 2000.

Mr. Koichi HIRASHIMA, Mitsubishi Electric Corporation, gave detailed explanation of the Mt. Fuji Radar equipment that relocated from Mt. Fuji Weather Station, and the various posters of development and construction.

The 6th Lecture Meeting of Tokyo Section in 2019 was hosted by Tokyo Technical Program Committee from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 4, at Training Room 1 in the first basement of Kikai Shinko Kaikan building with 38 participants.
Dr. Yoshihito HIRANO, Technical Adviser, Semiconductor & Device Group, Mitsubishi Electric Corporation, gave the invited talk titled “Development and its applications of wind sensing LIDAR. ”

IEEE Tokyo SYWL Workshop & IEEE Day Party 2019
Tokyo SYWL Workshop & IEEE Day Party 2019 were hosted by IEEE Tokyo Student Activities Committee, IEEE Tokyo Young Professionals Committee, Japan Council Women in Engineering Affinity Group and IEEE Tokyo Life Member Affinity Group , with the co-sponsorship of IEEE Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology / The University of Electro-Communications / Meiji University Student Branches, Saturday on October 5, 2019, on the second floor of the Centennial Memorial Hall of Nihon University, College of Humanities and Sciences. About 40 people got together in the vibrant events.
Those occasions, aimed at further cooperation with and more activities in Student Branch, YP, WIE, LMAG (SYWL) of Tokyo Section, and at sharing knowledge from various generations and regions to broaden the minds, presented some lectures titled “IEEE and me” by the representatives of each group, followed by discussion on careers among the members of SYWL.
The social event for the celebration of IEEE day took place after the workshop. “IEEE day” is commemorating the first Tuesday of October in 1884, when the researchers and engineers, the precursors of IEEE, shared their ideas and had discussion on electric engineering technologies. They have called the first Tuesday of October “IEEE day” over this decade and the day falls on October first this year. The SYML members of Tokyo Section gathered and mingled around the birthday cake that was specially made for “IEEE day” in memory of its 10th anniversary.
