Women in Engineering 2023

 

The Women in Engineering 2023 event will be held in hybrid format on December 2, 2023 (Sat.) at Aoyama Gakuin University, Aoyama Campus.

To participate, please sign up on the registration form by November 25, 2023 (Sat.). Members and non-members are invited and we are looking forward to having you join us.

Women in Engineering 2023

Tokyo Shin-etsu WIE (Women in Engineering) invites women who are active in the field of engineering to introduce the technological developments and R&D required today and to share insight on the future of technology to be opened up by women and together we will consider what kinds of technology we can and should work on in the future.

Convergence of Blockchain and AI/ML and its role in the smart city future

Abstract:
Emerging technologies such as blockchain and artificial intelligence have the potential to fundamentally transform the digital world as we know it. This presentation will provide an overview on the social, technical, and economic trends leading up to today and how these emerging technologies can be applied to smart cities to unlock social value.

Bio:
Nancy Min is the Founder and CEO of ecoLong, an energy technology company that is committed to building interconnected and resilient communities. She leads the research and development of multiple U.S. DOE funded projects including a blockchain based peer to peer transactive energy platform. She has experience driving technology innovation in start-ups, technology strategy and implementing large-scale enterprise systems in the federal and state government, and corporate finance in large companies. She has testified before the U.S. House Committee on Small Business Subcommittee on Underserved, Agriculture, and Rural Business Development on “Prioritizing Small Underserved and Rural Businesses in the SBIR/STTR Programs” on ways to foster diversity and inclusion among innovative companies. She is also passionate about giving back to the community and is involved in multiple open-source software technology communities.

This time we invited IEEE at UCI student branch to join us!
