Women in Engineering 2022

Tokyo Shin-etsu WIE (Women in Engineering) invites women who are active in the field of engineering to introduce the technological developments and R&D required today and to share insight on the future of technology to be opened up by women and together we will consider what kinds of technology we can and should work on in the future.

Prof. Michiko Ohkura（芝浦工業大学名誉教授・SIT総合研究所特任教授）
My personal journey with “kawaii” （「かわいい」と歩んだ私の旅）

Abstract:
子供時代から「かわいいもの」と数学やパズルやゲームが大好きで、
人間の脳への興味→人間の知覚特性の計測→感性計測→「わくわく感」の計測→「わくわくするかわいさ」の計測と、「かわいい」工学への道を歩んできた。
女性である気配を消す時代から、開き直って、女性だからこそできる研究を行うようになるまでを振り返る。

Bio:
1978年東京大学大学院工学系研究科計数工学専門課程修了課程を修了し、1979年(株)日立製作所中央研究所に入社。
1994年に東京大学大学院工学系研究科先端学際工学専攻博士後期課程修了。
1999～2019年3月まで芝浦工業大学工学部情報工学科教授を務め、同年4月より中央大学大学院理工学研究科客員教授、9月より芝浦工業大学SIT総研特任教授。
日本学術会議第三部会員、日本工学アカデミー会員、日本バーチャルリアリティ学会フェロー、日本感性工学会副会長。

海外鉄道プロジェクトと私のキャリアビジョン

Abstract:
憧れていた海外鉄道プロジェクトでの従事（主にミャンマー関係）。日本の鉄道を海外に展開していくことの難しさを感じながらも、多くの人に助けられて業務を行いました。これまでの環境と異なる場所での業務、価値観は新しい自分を見つけなおす契機になりました。これまでの経験を振り返ると共に、日本では考えられないような面白い視点をご紹介したいと思います。

Bio:
1995年　慶應義塾大学　理工学部　計測工学科卒業、東日本旅客鉄道㈱入社。鉄道の信号制御に関わる工事監督、設計に従事。
2003年技術開発部門に異動後に出産。
2014年日本コンサルタンツ㈱に出向し、海外鉄道プロジェクトを経験。
2019年より東日本旅客鉄道㈱　電気システムインテグレーションオフィス　海外事業推進室にて、電気関係の海外プロジェクト支援に従事。
