APSAR covers a wide variety of SAR and radar related topics including SAR
applications, analysis techniques, signal processing, SAR system design
and concepts, and more. In APSAR 2013, "Disaster monitoring"
is the main theme, providing the attendees with an opportunity to think
about how each of us can contribute through SAR technology to overcome
the hardships after disasters. To further promote research activities in this and relevant areas, IEEE
JSTARS plans to publish a Special Issue on Advances in SAR and Radar Technology
to be published in January 2015.

The IEICE (Institute of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineers)
Transactions on Electronics announces a forthcoming special section on
Recent Progress in Electromagnetic Theory and Its Application to be published
in January 2015.
The purpose of this special section is to present a collection of original papers that give an overview of recent progress of research and development in electromagnetic theory and its applications, including those related to the papers presented at the 2013 Symposium on Electromagnetic Theory, held in Aomori, Japan on November 14-16, 2013. It also shares the scope with the international symposia and meetings: 2013 AP-S and URSI, PIERS 2013, ISAP2013, EMTS 2013, and APSAR 2013. Presentations in these symposia and meetings are also considered to be part of this special section and submission is highly encouraged.
