Aims and activities

Support for the networking of women engineers and researchers

IEEE Tokyo/Shin-etsu WIE strives to support networking communities and connection opportunities for women engineers and researchers and their talents. Compared to other countries, the number of women in the technological fields in Japan is still very small.

Promotion of technical/research work and career development through various life stages

Men and women face a diversity of life events at each stage of their lives. IEEE Tokyo/Shin-etsu WIE is dedicated to promoting technical/research fields as a viable career option to women and supporting activities that will make it possible for them to exercise flexibility in their work-life balance throughout their careers.

※IEEE Tokyo/Shin-etsu WIE is a supporting organization for the “Riko-Challe(nge)” project of the Gender Equality Bureau Cabinet Office which is devoted to introducing STEM fields and careers to girls.
