The Revolution in Consumer Energy - The Effects of Mobility and Pseudo Green Technology -
■講師：Mr. Stefan Mozar (IEEE Fellow, Past President of IEEE CE Society)
■概要：
Energy consumption patterns in a connected world have changed our household energy foot
print. The choices available to buy energy, and the introduction of digital technology affects the
way we consume energy. This presentation will look at the driving forces of our changing energy
requirements. Consumers have the option in deregulated markets to disconnect themselves
from the grid, and generate their own energy. Many products make claims of energy efficiency
that are simply misleading, and technologies such as wireless charging have fine print
disclosures to justify their claims of energy efficiency. Legacy systems are impeding the
integration of new technologies, due to the high cost of change. Environmental consideration
take a backseat for convenience, and consumer technology engineers must find ways to design
energy efficient products that are safe, light and ergonomic. This is a formidable task.
■講師：
Stefan Mozar obtained his engineering degrees from the University of New South Wales
(Sydney), and his MBA from the University of Technology, Sydney. He is a Chartered
Professional Engineer (C.P.Eng.), and a register Professional Engineer in Australia. He is a
Fellow of the Institution of Engineers Australia, and of the IEEE.
His experience includes consumer electronics, telecommunications, and industrial electronics.
He spent most of his career in R&D labs; but has also taught for a number of Australian,
Asian, and British Universities. Currently is an Adjunct Professor at Guangdong University of
Technology, China. He has extensive experience in designing consumer products, and
telecommunications equipment. For these systems he helped design and establish factories in
India and Vietnam. He has contributed to projects that won about 30 international design
awards in a number of countries like Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Malaysia, Korea,
Japan, China, Chile, Argentina, and Brazil. His work has resulted in a number of patents and
publications, as well as some book chapters. Stefan is frequently invited as keynote speaker,
and has developed many short courses, including some on DTV, Cable TV, and Satellite
Systems.
Stefan served on the board of the IEEE Consumer Electronics Society as President, where he
successfully established a series of global conference and introduced the CE Magazine. He is
also the VP of conferences for the Product Safety Engineering Society, and the CEO of
Dynexsys, a Sydney based technology consulting company. He received numerous IEEE
awards.

IEEE Consumer Electronics Society West Japan Joint Chapterの設立総会が終了
設立総会を2014年3月22日に埼玉大学東京ステーションカレッジで開催しました。
CE SocietyのPresidentであるStefan Mozar氏にご挨拶いただき、CE SocietyのVice PresidentであるProf. Sung-Jea KoおよびCE Society East Japan Joint Chapter のChairであるDr. Haruhiko Okumuraから祝辞をいただきました。また、名古屋工業大学・桜井教授から「テレビジョン: 過去、現在、未来」と題して記念講演をいただきました。
GCCE2013が無事終了
第2回GCCEを10月1日から4日に幕張メッセ・国際会議場で開催しました。
今回はAward Session, Young Award Session，2つのPoster Session（56件）を含む27セッションを開催，240件の論文が発表されました。
GCCE2012が無事終了
第1回GCCEを10月2日から5日に幕張メッセ・国際会議場で開催しました。
これから毎年10月にIEEE主催の国際会議として日本で開催します。
今回はAward Session, Young Award Session，2つのPoster Session（50件）を
含む３４セッションが開催されました。
また、10/２にはサムスンエレクトロニクス専務のハン・カブス氏による招待講演、
10/3にスマートプロジェクト代表・加藤敏晴氏、ドコモエンジニアリング社長・辻村清行氏、
山形大学・城戸淳二教授らによる基調講演を、10/4に東京電機大学・安田浩教授による基調講演と
NHK技研・藤沢秀一氏らを迎えたシンポジウム「テレビの未来」を、
10/5には東京大学・坂村教授による基調講演と日本マイクロソフトCTO加治佐俊一氏らを
迎えたシンポジウム「家電の未来」を開催した。
