    The 2011 Annual General Assembly of Tokyo Section Life Members Affinity Group

    The 2011 Annual General Assembly of Tokyo Section Life Members Affinity Group was held on Friday, March 11 from 2:00 p.m. at U-port. 17 members attended. Activity reports for 2010 and Action plan for 2011 were reported.

    The 2011 Annual General Assembly of Tokyo Section

    The 2011 Annual General Assembly of Tokyo Section was held from 2:30 p.m. at U-port. 32 members attended. Activity / financial reports for 2010 and Action / budget plan for 2011 were reported. The earthquake occurred during the Annual General Assembly, however, we adjusted the schedule and responded to the assembly.

    Celebration for The 2011 New Fellows

     

    After the Annual General Assembly of Tokyo Section, Celebration for The 2011 New Fellows was held. 11 members were newly selected as IEEE fellows from Tokyo Section this year, and 5 of them attended the celebration. To mark the occasion, Prof. T. Aoyama, Tokyo Section Chair, presented new Fellows Radio Wave Clocks, and each new Fellow gave us a speech of joy.
    A buffet party was also held in the same building.

    The 2011 First Lecture of Tokyo Section

    Following the Celebration for The 2011 New Fellows, the 2011 First Commemorative Lecture was hosted by the Tokyo Section, entitled "Development and Climate of 1st Generation Prius, and Foresight for the Next Generation Automobile", was held by the Tokyo Section. The invited lecturer was Prof. Shoichi Sasaki, Professor of Keio University [Recipient of 2010 IEEE Daniel E. Noble Award and 2011 IEEE Medal for Environmental and Safety Technologies). He explained his challenges for improving the gas-mileage and for commercializing the product, as well as the habit of the company that realized the success. He also stated the foresight for the next generation automobiles.
