First Meeting of Tokyo Section Executive Committee in 2006

The First Tokyo Section Executive Committee Meeting in 2006 was held at Palace Hotel Tokyo from 9:00am on March 1(Wed.).

IEEE Tokyo Section's Year 2006 General Assembly

The IEEE Tokyo Section's Year 2006 General Assembly was held at Palace Hotel Tokyo from 11:00am on March 1(Wed.), 2006. 33 members were participated. Year 2005 business report, financial report and Year 2006 action plans were reported. 2006 annual budget proposals were discussed and approved.

After the General Assembly, there was a celebration ceremony for newly selected IEEE of Fellows in 2006. 13(out of 18) new IEEE Fellows in the Tokyo Section attended the ceremony. Each new Fellow was introduced by the citation, announced by Tokyo Section Secretary Hayashi, and honored by the presentation, handed by Section Chair Harashima. They gave the audience rejoicing speeches on aspirations and resolution for further efforts in their professions either in research or in business.

From 5:00pm on the same day, a congratulation party for new IEEE Fellows and the 50th Anniversay party in Tokyo Section was held at the same place to honor their achievement and to intercharge between them.

50th Anniversary Ceremony of the IEEE Tokyo Section

50th Anniversary Ceremony of the IEEE Tokyo Section was held in Palace Hotel Tokyo in the afternoon on March 1, 2006, following the General Assembly Meeting of Tokyo Section.More than 100participants, including Dr. Michael R. Lightner, 2006 President of the IEEE, other guests from the Headquarter of the IEEE, guests from national academic societies, current and successive board members and trustees of the Tokyo Section and Japan Council, came into the Ceremony.
