    The 2010 Annual General Assembly of Tokyo Section

    The 2010 Annual General Assembly of Tokyo Section was held on March 10 (Wed), from 2:00 p.m. at Josuii Kaikan. 22 members attended. Activity / financial reports for 2009 and Action / budget plan for 2010 were reported.

    The 2010 First Commemorative Lecture of Tokyo Section

    After the General Assembly, the 2010 First Commemorative Lecture was hosted by the Tokyo Section entitled, "Better Theory, Better Methodology, Better Tool -The Tripod for Creation (Design) of Innovative Products or Systems-" was held by the Tokyo Section. The invited lecturer was Dr. Hitoshi Watanabe, IEEE Life Fellow and Professor Emeritus, Dept of Information Systems Science Soka University [IEEE Gustav R. Kirchhoff Award Recipient in 2010]. He explained his conviction of "Engineering is congruent with Design" and introduced his personal experience of "realization of ideal filter circuit design.

    Celebration for The 2010 New Fellows


    After the Commemorative Lecture, Celebration for The 2010 New Fellows was held. 9 members were newly selected as IEEE fellows from Tokyo Section this year, and 8 of them attended the celebration. To mark the occasion, Prof. H. Imai, Tokyo Section Chair, presented new fellows Radio Wave Clocks, and each new fellow gave us a speech of joy.
    After the Celebration, a buffet party was held in the same location. Taking the opportunity, three members from IEEE Japan council History Committee were introduced who had been awarded 2009 IEEE History Committee Recognition.
