6月23日(水) 14:00より、アイビーホール青学会館にて、2006年第1回 Chapter Operations Committee Meeting が開催されました。

IEEE Region 10 Annual General Meeting 2006参加報告

2006年3月26日（日）-27日(月)　タイ（チェンマイ）において Region 10 Annual General Meeting 2006
が開催され、東京支部から菅原理事 が参加されました。他にIEEE本部関係者、Region10関係者、Council/Sectionの代表者と全体で87名の 参加がありました。今回の開催においては、IEEEに於けるアジア地域の重要性を示すものと 感じられました。

  • Address
    1. Address by 2006 IEEE President, Michael R. Lightner
      最新のデータを用いたR10地域の人口トレンド等の紹介、次の10年に向けたIEEEの動き、 およびIEEEの９つの戦略目標について述べられた。
    1. Address by 2006 Past President, Cleon Anderson
      GOLDの特典紹介とIEEEのボランティア活動の重要性について述べられた。
    1. Address by Managing Director for Regional Activities, Cecelia Jankowski
      新しい動きとして、myIEEE, New Graduate Student Membership (GSM) および ieee.tvが紹介された。
    1. Address by IEEE Staff Director, Corporate Strategy & Communications, Matt Loeb
      IEEE strategic research onlineおよび中国リエゾンオフィスに関するAsia-Pacific Initiativeの活動が紹介された。
  1. Address by President-elect candidate 2007, Lewis Terman and John R. Vig
    それぞれの候補者より略歴およびIEEE運営に関する考え方が述べられた。
  2. Address by 2004-2005 President of Electron Devices Society, Hiroshi Iwai
    Electron Devices Society (EDS)の全体な構造と活動が紹介された。
  • Membership Development
    会員の利益増大を目指して、IEEE協賛クレジットカード、IEEE保険等の具体的実施例について3件のプレゼンテーションがあった。 パネリストより e-libraryの強化、あるいはインタネットの活用等に関してコメントが出された。
  • Presentation of Programs for 2006 by Committee Chairs (parallel session)
    各委員長より2005年の活動結果および2006年の目標について報告された。

  • Presentation and approval of 2005 finances and rectification of 2006 Budget
    雁部 Treasurer より提出された2005年の決算および2006年予算案は満場一致で承認された。
  • TENCON関連の報告
    TENCON2005-2009について、各支部から準備状況が報告された。またTENCON2010の 開催提案募集がなされた

  • Announcement of Call for Nominations for 2007 R10 Director-elect candidates
    J. U. Seo, Chair of the Nomination Committee, に代わり竹内 Directorから2007 R10 Director選挙の候補者名簿に登録するR. Muralidharan (Bombay), Yong-Jin Park (Seoul), およびY. W. Liu (Hong Kong)の3名の紹介があった。
  • Any Other Business
    新たなIEEE R10 Advisory Committee(AC)の設立動議が出された。採決の結果、多数により承認された。
