IEEE Tokyo Section's Year 2005 General AssemblyThe IEEE Tokyo Section's Year 2005 General Assembly was held at Kousai Kaikan from 2:00pm on March 16(Wed.), 2005. 32 members were participated. Year 2004 business report, financial report and Year 2003 action plans were reported. 2005 annual budget proposals were discussed and approved. After the General Assembly, there was a celebration ceremony for newly selected IEEE of Fellows in 2005. 14(out of 19) new IEEE Fellows in the Tokyo Section attended the ceremony. Each new Fellow was introduced by the citation, announced by Tokyo Section Vice Chair Hata, and honored by the presentation of the USB memory with IEEE logo, handed by Section Chair Harashima. They gave the audience rejoicing speeches on aspirations and resolution for further efforts in their professions either in research or in business. From 5:15pm on the same day, a congratulation party for new IEEE Fellows was held at the same hall to honor their achievement and to intercharge between them. The invited lecturer was Director General of National Institute of Informatics, Dr. Yasuharu Suematsu, the 2003 IEEE James H.Mulligan Jr. Educational Medal Award Holder. Former chair Ikeda reported on the past activity, especially on the establishment of IEEE Japan.Through the discussion the following peocedure was approved; checking the pulse of each section at the next IEEE Japan Council Committee Meeting, preparation of the application documents through nodding and negotiation procedures toward Region 10 and IEEE Head Office. =2005 Meeting Schedule = Courtesy Visit of IEEE Computer Society President to Tokyo SectionIEEE Computer Society President Gerald Engel delivered lecture entitled "How to be a Good Engineer"at Waseda University and made a cortesy visit on Tokyo Section Chair Harashima on March 3 (Tue),2005.
